Why We Are Here

Women sustain our communities.
We sustain them.

Core imagines a world in which Jewish women are so connected that the warmth of Torah radiates through them to others, creating warm, inspiring communities where every individual feels valued, needed and cared for.

Officially launched in 2018, Core operates on 3 Levels:

  •  Training mentors for Jewish women
  •  Connecting women in fields of Jewish service
  •  Establishing a system for in-person social growth and development

The Torah has always recognized Jewish women as the engine that drive the Jewish People.
Core is invested in ensuring that engine runs smoothly.

Our goal:
bring extraordinary Jewish women forward.

...Core has given me new tools for my toolbox, and introduced me to tools I never knew existed... My thinking has been expanded, as have my listening skills. Both have given me agency to do and be more, and are constantly being implemented. ...Through Core I have gained a greater comprehensive understanding of Lhalaos Ner. It involves how to focus in ways that bring out the best in others by creating space for them to flourish, especially as it relates to strengthening other Jewish women.

Over the last few days there have been incredible meaningful conversations on a few of our groups [communities of practice]. Here we are, across the globe, sharing the same struggles, and offering ideas and experiences.

Now, if I’m stuck and need advice, I have an arsenal of women to turn to, whose experiences can inform my work. Similarly, I can be there for them, sharing the knowledge and learning I’ve gained.

I was really drawn by the idea of helping women feel known. Many women feel anonymous when they go to community events. The size and format of a Core Circle encourage us to get to know each other really well. In a Circle, people feel like a neshama, not a number. ...Facilitating a Circle has vastly improved my confidence and capacity to give to others. I feel more fulfilled, and it’s something that’s so apparent; others have commented on it.
